Network Consultant (Ljubljana)
Are you ready to make an impact with your networking expertise? We are looking for a Network Consultant who takes ownership of customer environments, ensures stability and security, and actively contributes to improving network performance and reliability.
You will be employed by Open Line Vitaly, part of Consica, and work as an integrated part of Open Line, the Netherlands' leading managed services provider. In this setup, you work close to both the customer and the technology, with direct influence on outcomes.
The Role: In this role, you are responsible for delivering and operating network environments for a defined set of customers. You ensure network infrastructures are secure, stable, and efficient, while continuously identifying and driving improvements. You work with technologies such as firewalls, switches, and routers, and contribute to network upgrades, optimizations, and the implementation of new solutions across different customer environments.
The Team: You will be part of a customer-focused team that operates as an extension of Open Line’s organization. The team owns its environments end-to-end and works closely together to deliver consistent, high-quality service. Collaboration is direct and hands-on, with clear ownership and a strong focus on technical quality. You work alongside network engineers and other IT specialists (Microsoft, Linux...), supported by a Team Manager and coordinated in daily operations by a Team Coordinator.
As a member of our team, you will:
- Manage, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routers)
- Ensure stability, security, and performance of customer networks
- Support incident resolution and perform root cause analysis
- Contribute to network improvements, upgrades and expansions
- Participate in onboarding new customers and implementing network solutions
- Collaborate with vendors such as Cisco and Palo Alto
You are a perfect fit if you:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
- Have 4+ years of experience in network engineering, ideally in managed services.
- Have strong knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and security
- Hold a Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification (additional certifications are a plus)
- Communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken
- Work effectively in team settings, including remote collaboration
- Take a structured, solution-oriented approach to troubleshooting
- Have a strong focus on customer impact and service quality

- Have 4+ years of experience managing Microsoft environments, with strong expertise in both classic and modern workplace setups.
- Are a problem solver who thrives on delivering solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Stay motivated by keeping systems secure, updated, and ahead of the curve.
- Are eager to maintain and earn certifications, such as Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Modern Desktop Administrator, Azure Administrator, and Microsoft 365 Security.
- Possess strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Work effectively in team settings, including remote collaboration.
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service orientation.
- Excel in analytical thinking and have exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
