With pride, VECOZO introduces — powered by the Vitaly platform — the MDO service. Better care for the patient!

April 17, 2025

VECOZO has launched a new national service to support multidisciplinary consultations (MDOs) in healthcare. This enables professionals to collaborate more efficiently, share knowledge, and deliver the best possible patient care – all while reducing ICT costs.

The MDO service builds on a successful regional pilot in the Utrecht region and is now being scaled nationally. Key features include real-time data reuse, up-to-date patient records, and interoperability across regions.

To power the platform, VECOZO relies on Open Line’s secure Vitaly environment, allowing healthcare providers to organize MDOs quickly and safely across multiple domains such as oncology, vascular surgery, and cardiology.

The MDO service helps reduce rescheduling and administrative burdens, while improving the accessibility and quality of care — all via one standardized platform.

COLLABORATION WITH OPEN LINE VITALY
For its new MDO service, VECOZO is leveraging the secure and reliable digital infrastructure of Open Line’s Vitaly platform. This collaboration enables healthcare institutions to rapidly scale up to a nationwide network for multidisciplinary consultations (MDOs).

Jo Verstappen – CEO of Open Line:
“Our collaboration allows healthcare institutions to swiftly build a national MDO network. Together with VECOZO, we are taking a major step forward in network-based care.”

Han Tanis – Director at VECOZO:
“The MDO service makes consultations more efficient. With fewer cancellations and less need for rescheduling, more patients can be discussed — all while reducing the administrative burden on healthcare professionals.”

The standardization and national scalability also lead to lower IT costs. Information for various MDO types is shared through a single platform, ensuring simplicity and continuity.

Han Tanis adds:
“We’re clearly meeting a need: many regions are already in talks with us to adopt the service.”
